Marita Mazanishvili

Marita supports Hemrick O’Malley attorneys and supports the team in preparing cases and documentation for immigration matters. Her responsibilities include assisting with applications filed at USCIS, as well as asylum matters at EOIR, which is her main field of expertise.

In addition, she provides interpretation and notarization services during client-attorney meetings and court hearings, ensuring effective communication.

Marita is currently pursuing a Master of Laws (LL.M.) at Fordham Law School and is dedicated to expanding her knowledge and expertise in the legal field.

Prior to joining Hemrick O’Malley, Marita established a Translation company and continues to provide translation and notarization services to this day. Concurrently, she serves as a Certified Court Interpreter at EOIR, facilitating legal proceedings for Georgian speakers.

Previously, Marita worked as a social worker at a Non-profit organization Mercy First, advocating for children and women from diverse backgrounds. She collaborated with the New York State Child Welfare Department to safeguard her clients’ safety and well-being.

Before immigrating to the U.S. in her twenties, Marita was deeply involved in human rights advocacy in Georgia. She worked with international and local NGOs, providing legal research and assistance to those facing abuse and discrimination based on various grounds.

As a Georgian immigrant, Marita is passionate about empowering individuals navigating immigration law challenges, a cause close to her heart.
